HRV, Sleep, and What the Somavedic Studies Measured

Heart-rate variability () is the natural variation in time between heartbeats. It is one indicator used to study autonomic activity and recovery, but a single value is not a diagnosis. Age, fitness, health, sleep, stress, alcohol, measurement method, and time of day can all affect it.

What the IGEF report measured

IGEF measured 10 self-selected participants who described themselves as electrosensitive before and after they used Somavedic Medic. Follow-up ranged from 2 to 28 days. IGEF classified 8 of 10 as showing improved ; one endpoint decreased and one did not show the claimed improvement.

The report had no control group, sham device, randomization, or blinding. It did not provide an aggregate statistical test or a prespecified improvement threshold. It also did not directly measure sleep, circulation, energy, or "internal balance."

What the BrainTap pilot measured

The six-week BrainTap pilot followed 20 adults using BrainTap twice daily together with nearby Somavedic use. It reported several sleep, mood, stress, and depression questionnaire changes. Anxiety and three sleep subscales were not significant.

Despite appearing in some promotional titles, the reviewed PDF reports no HRV method or HRV result. It should not be used as HRV evidence, and the combined design cannot isolate Somavedic's contribution.

A practical sleep setup

Keep a regular sleep schedule, lower bright light late in the evening, and make the bedroom cool, dark, and quiet. Move a phone or router if that makes the routine easier. Somavedic can be added as an environmental-harmonization device, but no study supports a guaranteed sleep or outcome.
